Global predictions are entered once on /predictions and apply by default to all groups in "Phase by phase" mode. Custom ones are independent per group: you enter them inside the group and they only count there. The Global/Custom choice is per user and per group. In "Full tournament" groups, custom is required because you also have to fill the bracket.
